Welcome Texas history lovers to the first episode of The Texian! On our first excursion into the action packed annals of Texas history, we sit down with Dr. Stephen L. Hardin, author of Texian Iliad, Texian Macabre and the upcoming Lust for Glory about some of the most famous myths, misconceptions and downright lies associated with the most famous event in all Texas history. Among a few of the Texas notables we talk about today are: William B. Travis, James Bowie, David Crockett and James C. Neill (the forgotten Alamo hero). We delve a bit into their past while laying out the chain of events that lead up to them all being stuck together during that fateful February of 1836.

Yes, there's probably a fair amount of familiar material in there for hardcore Texas history fans but you'd be surprised at how few Texans actually did know most of that information. About all they know is that the Alamo fell and most everyone was killed. Oh and that Crockett and Bowie were there. That's about it. Please take a listen to part two if you get the chance!
