A woodcut by famed author O. Henry for Indian Depredations in Texas |
Howdy y'all! Welcome back for another thrilling episode of the Texian. This one is a little different. I am still gathering interviews with different Texas history experts for future episodes, so in the meantime I've decided to tell my own version of a famous tall tale from our past. A tall tale that happens to be true. It's the first in my little side series called Once upon a Time in Texas. These will be my own versions of Texas legends and folklore, in which I will tell you what's true, what's fiction, and what we just ain't exactly sure of just yet. Since legend and folklore are such a big part of our state's past, I figured they needed their own little subsection here on the Texian. Hope you enjoy this first entry! Be sure and share with your friends!
